About Me

My name is Sean Booker, and I live in Barrington, RI. I have been in the construction industry for over 25 years in many different capacities. I began working as a painter, and within a couple of years mastered the trade and started my own company. I started specializing in large historic projects including private homes, churches, and museums.

I soon became well known for my restorative carpentry, epoxy work, and window restoration. This led to a position as the Property Caretaker at Linden Place Museum in Bristol, RI, where my family and I lived for 5 years. I used my available time to start a handyman service, and start working on my own restoration projects.

Since then, I have restored multiple properties including our 1890 home in Barrington, and our 1800 farmhouse in New Hampshire. My handyman company, which I now run with my son, has been in business for over ten years. It has a 5-star google rating with actual reviews, from actual customers (please read them!). I have always had three things at the heart of all my business ventures: Quality Craftsmanship, Professional Service, and Trusted Advice.

I am now offering that advice to people everywhere. Homeownership can be daunting, stressful, and expensive. I can offer you unbiased advice and insight that could save you time, money, and stress. Whether it’s a minor repair, a major renovation, or maybe a DIY project that you need a little guidance with… I can help. I have dipped my toes into almost every imaginable area of home maintenance and improvement. Now you can leverage that experience for your own benefit.

  • Why 15 min, that doesn’t seem long enough?
It may not be. But I can usually get to the heart of most issues very quickly. I may be able to help in less than 15 min, or maybe we use that initial consultation to come up with a long-term plan with some 15 min check-ins along the way.
  • Can you help with reviewing bids/estimates?
Absolutely! I have heard some shocking numbers before. You should always get three bids whenever possible, and probably more in certain situations. A consultation before collecting bids can be extremely useful. You should really know exactly what you are trying to accomplish before making that first phone call.
  • Can you recommend contractors?
Unfortunately, no. I am not a contractor referral service, and there would be an inherent conflict of interest if I did. What I can do is help you find the right contractor for you and your specific needs. I can equip you with the knowledge and experience to vet and hire the right company.
  • Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, I am a “registered” general contractor with the state of RI, and carry full liability insurance. Keep in mind that not all contractors have to be licensed, in fact, most just need to be registered with the Contractors Registration Board. Everyone must be insured, but sadly, many are not.
  • Is there anything you can’t help with?
If anything, new construction is not my specialty. However, I can still help with the planning and bidding process. I’m a good resource to lean on if you run into any issues along the way. In the end, I am a contractor and business owner, so I can provide you with some powerful insights to work with similar minded people. I do not do any commercial work any longer; that’s a whole-other-ball-of-wax.
  • Can you provide refences?
Of course, but my Google reviews speak for themselves. I have customers that I have been working closely with for over a decade, many of which I consider dear friends.
  • Can you perform the work?
Yes and no. If you live within my service area (East Bay RI), and are not an existing customer, I may be able to help if it’s the right fit. If you are outside my service area, I will not be able to perform any work.
